Marketing and Managing Place: Champagne –
The Wine, the Landscape, the History
Reims Management School is tapping its expertise and privileged location to launch an MBA-level Global Immersion Course titled Marketing and Managing Place: Champagne.
The course will show how marketers and managers can capitalise upon the unique attributes of a place, its ‘terroir’, monuments and historical relevance to manage the multi-dimensional image of a region and market it to a target audience.
Available to product managers and wine industry professionals as well as MBA participants, the 10-day study tour seeks to explain how Champagne has become a cultural symbol and a cult product. Participants will draw lessons that can be applied elsewhere and to products that have territorial and/or origin qualities.
Point of View: “You will gain knowledge that you can apply throughout your life”
Testimonial: Chakrapani SHARMA (CP) chose the International MBA at RMS and discovered a passion for strategic analysis after beginning his career in Business Intelligence consulting.
“I grew up near Jaipur in North India and graduated there as an engineer in 2005. Capgemini hired me as a Business Intelligence Consultant, and I enjoyed the work. But I could see gaps in my knowledge. I thought that I needed a global view, and that sooner or later I would need an MBA, so I started researching my options.
I had never thought of coming to France, but I was attracted to RMS by the one-year full-time IMBA. I discovered that RMS is one of the best management schools in France and realised that it would be really good for me to go to a non-Anglophone country, while the average age of participants, at 30 years, was appealing. And for me, the programme was the best value for money.

China Conference
Understanding day-to-day management in China has become essential for many executives today. So the January edition of the monthly MBA Conference series at RMS, entitled Daily Operational Management in China, was a valued opportunity for course participants, alumni and faculty to discuss latest developments in management there.
Lead by Dr Frédéric Bonnet, Managing Director of Beijing-based consultants EOOS China, the session ranged from company statutes and accounting and tax issues in China to business development, personnel management issues, and logistics challenges.
Dr Bonnet also shared vital perspectives gleaned during 12 years in China on the evolution of the country’s economy and society.
