Reims Management School Foundation
awards its first scholarships
The RMS Foundation has recently awarded 20 scholarships to students who succeeded in fulfilling two criteria: they demonstrated both financial need and academic excellence. Two of the recipients are MBA students from the International Programme, namely Anca, who comes from Romania and Marc from the Lebanon.
Each award represents about 10, 000 euros which allows the recipients to reimburse 50% of their school fees. The Foundation plans to award 50 scholarships per year throughout the following years.
The Foundation has been in existence for one year and is composed of three founding members: PWC, Crédit Agricole du Nord and RMS Network.
Executive MBA Graduate in the “Courrier Cadres”, February 2008
“Playing the MBA card to set up his business project in the international arena was Jean-Christophe Radouan’s objective in applying to RMS in 2004. As an export manager in a food-industry firm, he wanted to create a subsidiary in Spain. It was during his 10-day seminar in Madrid that he was able to set up his business plan with the help of his professors, (….). Christophe Radouan is now managing two subsidiaries employing about 20 staff: one in Spain and the other in Portugal.”
Interview of Raymond OUELLET,
RMS MBA Director on the Financial Director website (Feb. 2008)
Financial Director: Some people think that a person that studies in the western business school is far from particular features of his country and then it is difficult for him to enter the business in his/her country. Is it true? Raymond Ouellet:Yes and No. Yes, it is important for Indian, Chinese and Russian students and managers to have the training that an MBA provides. Doing it at home is the most cost effective way to do so. No, because it risks being too country-centric... it misses the dynamic interchange that can come from in-classroom exchanges with people of different cultures, nationalities, and educational and work backgrounds.
FD: Which trends do exist now in the market of business education? Is it possible that any new formats can appear in the market of education? RO:There will always be a need for full time MBA programmes... Executive MBA programmes are expanding but they will never replace the benefits that having an MBA at age 26 or so can provide.
FD: What else, besides business education, does a person need to be a successful manager? RO: Companies are asking/expecting graduates in general and our graduates in particular to be a positive force in their companies. They expect our graduates to deliver value in their analytical capabilities, their abilities to develop strategies, their ability to work in groups, and finally to deliver that value in terms of bottom-line results.
