Reims Management School (RMS)
The
learning methods, used in the IMBA, take into account the
requirements involved in training professionals. It considers their
maturity and potential and at the same time strengthens their
decision-making capacity in a sometimes difficult international environment where resources
are scarce. It also re-enforces their ability to work as a team.
That
is the reason why the IMBA has definitely chosen to adopt an active
learning, focused on problem solving and case studies.
Specific methods aimed at preparing people for their professional life
Interactive learning schemes
The
IMBA methods privilege practice, real life situation and the
acquisition of methodology through techniques that are both active
and adapted to professional life.
The pedagogical format of
seminars is based on interactive learning methods commonly used in
companies and adapted to fast and durable learning: Problem Based
Learning (PBL).
The principles of Problem Based Learning
Each
theme is approached from the point of view of the critical situations
that can result from it and the possible and desirable technical and
behavioural answers.
The
objective is not the sole skill learning, but the training to
formulating and implementing strategy adapted to a wide variety of
issues.
From individual to collective learning
The IMBA is based on 3 types of learning:
-
Individual learning with directed personal word
-
One-to-one learning with coaching and personalized follow up
-
Group learning with team work and lectures
The key role of the student community in the learning process
The
IMBA is a very thorough and comprehensive learning programme, which
requires a large amount of individual learning, but even more
learning with and through other people.
Most work situations thus
require working efficiently as a team, which is an essential part of
the training.
Every possible things are
done to create a favourable environment for the learning group
(reserved working spaces, adapted schedules, etc) thus enabling
exchanges and mutual enrichment.
